Laughing Gas

Dental anxiety is extremely common, and we work hard to do everything we can to give our patients a relaxing dental experience. As part of that experience, we offer nitrous oxide, or laughing gas, to our patients. Nitrous oxide is known to cause relaxation or minimal sedation. When used in the dental chair, nitrous oxide can help our anxious patients have an enjoyable dental experience. For our patients that are extremely nervous about their visit, or are having dental surgery, we might recommend oral sedation or IV sedation in order to achieve a higher level of comfort.

Often known as laughing gas, nitrous oxide or NO2 is commonly used in dentistry to reduce dental anxiety during the appointment. In the dental chair, nitrous oxide is mixed with oxygen to maintain a safety. In combination with adequate numbing medicine, patients are able to effectively enjoy a comfortable dental experience. If you would like to learn more about the sedation options available to you, schedule a consult and discuss your needs with a member of our team.
